Frequently Asked Questions

Special Projects Group FAQs

Why use a well-established construction firm that is known for handling larger, complex projects to build my smaller project?  Won’t a larger firm be more expensive?

The unique qualifications, focus and abilities of the Special Projects Group combined with the resources of a large company ensure that your project goes smoothly and is done right.  It’s the ultimate construction delivery package for your smaller construction project without any extra overhead costs from the added resource base.  Our prices are competitive with smaller contractors, but with our years of experience, our capabilities and results are unequaled.

Won’t my smaller project play second fiddle compared to DJ’s other work?

No.  The Special Projects Group handles projects the way DJ Construction handles all of our projects: with a proven process emphasizing your expectations and hopes for your building.  Even if you’re simply adding a new wall, improving waterproofing on your foundation, or reworking your existing offices, we realize that you value a job done thoroughly, carefully, and professionally.  That’s why our special projects delivery process includes competitive pricing, a detailed scope of work, a projected schedule, and all of the other things you would need to assure you of quality, efficiency, and minimal disruption to your current operations.  Since your project is important to you, it is important to us to deliver the construction project you deserve and should expect.

Why did DJ establish the Special Projects Group?

DJ has always completed projects of all sizes for our clients, but we realized clients with smaller projects could best be served by dedicating a special division of our company just to meet their unique needs.  We created the Special Projects Group to offer the best possible team for these clients that can dedicate the amount of time needed to get the job done right.  Special Projects Superintendent Lon Roth has an extensive construction background in both hands-on construction projects and project management, including his experience owning his own home-building company.  His leadership of the Special Projects Group brings the experience, dedication, and character that define DJ Construction as a whole.  Special Projects Estimator Mike Anglemyer shares the same traits and has what it takes to help get your project off to a great start.    Other resources from the company can be assigned to your project as required, including “green” or sustainable design concepts.

What kinds of projects are classified as “special projects”?

Special projects include smaller construction and renovation/remodel projects in addition to many other unique types.  Our special projects come to us in all forms.  Some of our past special projects include an interior renovation at Seating Technology to create office space, an exterior upgrade and interior remodel at John Hall’s TrueValue Hardware, the installation of a loading dock separation wall at Stellite, a wheelchair lift installation at Prairie Street Mennonite Church, and many more.
