Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Breaks Ground for New Facility

(May 16, 2010) Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church is stepping into a new phase of growth in partnership with DJ Construction.  The church began construction of a brand new facility with a groundbreaking ceremony on May 16th.

Dating back to its founding in 1857, the church has been at its current location on CR 19 in Bristol since 1858 and is excited to continue its growth with the start of construction of the new wood-framed building.  The facility will contain 9,783 square feet and hold a sanctuary, classrooms, church office, fellowship hall, chapel and more.  The exterior will feature a stone/split-faced block appearance with gables and a steeple.  The church hopes to move into the facility in February 2011.

Seven acres of woods had to be cleared on the building site to accommodate the new building as well as a future pavilion, serenity garden, playground, softball diamond, walking trail, basketball court and soccer field.

Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church is a family of Christians who choose to worship, to learn, to witness, and to care by reaching out and sharing through the Good News of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Its Sunday morning schedule is as follows: 8:15 Sunday School; 9:00 Coffee/fellowship; 9:20 Praise Singing; 9:30 Worship.
