Major Renovation Complete at Sugar Grove Church

Major Renovation Complete at Sugar Grove Church

(October 29, 2009) Nearly every area of Sugar Grove Church has been newly renovated in partnership with DJ Construction.  The renovation project affected approximately 30,000 sq. ft. spread over the church's two stories.  More parking space was also added on the site.

Working through a major project while the facility remained occupied was an important part of the construction process.  All of Sugar Grove's ministries continued throughout the renovation.

The project included the installation of a new elevator, the creation of a new children's ministry wing, and the expansion of the original youth room, creating space for a new cafe worship service.  The first cafe-style service was held on October 4th, and the services will continue each Sunday morning at 10:15 a.m.

Other worship opportunities on Sunday mornings at Sugar Grove include Classic Worship at 8:45 a.m. and Celebration Worship at 10:15 a.m.

Sugar Grove Church is a non-denominational congregation with roots tracing back to the mid-1800s.  The church website states, "We exist to help people...reach up, reach in and reach out."  A few of the church's goals for the project were to maximize the use of its current facility, provide a more welcoming space and ease congestion, make the entire church more accessible to everyone of all ages and physical abilities, transform the gym into an effective multi-use space and create space to meet the needs of the growing youth and children's ministries.

Pastor Rick Gering is excited about the finished project and is grateful for the church's partnership with DJ.  He states, "DJ Construction was an absolute blessing to our church.  They worked hard with the goals of the church in mind.  Everything we wanted to accomplish was successfully accommodated by the DJ team.  It was a wonderful partnership that I'm sure will continue into the future plans of SGC."
