Granger Community Church Partners with DJ Construction on Two Projects

(December 20, 2011) Granger Community Church has teamed up with DJ Construction for two projects in the past several months as the church continues to grow.

In November, DJ finished a renovation of the former St. John's United Church of Christ facility, which was donated to GCC, to create a new home for GCC's Elkhart Campus.  The project created a new auditorium and restrooms as well as several other updates.  The project was set on a fast time-line with a limited budget and the need for volunteer coordination.  The team tackled these challenges and finished the project on-time and on-budget.

Enos Yoder, a Certified Church Consultant at DJ, commented on the effort. "We have worked with countless churches on projects of all sizes, and we recognize that each project is equally important to a church's ministry efforts.  We really appreciate the opportunity to partner with Granger Community Church for this renovation project and are excited to see their continued growth and outreach in the Elkhart area."

In December, the church again partnered with DJ for an addition/renovation at its Granger Campus (University Drive) that is now underway.  The 12,300 square foot addition will house a new commons area that provides a comfortable and artistic place open to the regional community during the week, not just for members of the church.  It will be a good place for people to meet and gather with everything from quality food and beverages to good music.  The project also involves the renovation of 4,000 square feet of existing space and is scheduled for completion in September 2012.

DJ helped the church through a necessary value engineering process in the design phase that allowed them to cut $1 million out of the cost of the project and get it within the church's desired cost range.

DJ is excited about these opportunities to help GCC continue to further its important ministries in our communities.
