Bremen Church of the Brethren Completes New Church Building
(January 18, 2010) Bremen Church of the Brethren has officially moved into its brand new building at 921 Woodies Lane in Bremen. A dedication service took place on January 10th. DJ Construction was the church's building partner.
Bremen Church of the Brethren outgrew its former location at the corner of Sherman and Montgomery Streets and now has the necessary space to continue to expand its ministries. The site is not entirely new to the church. The church's original building, constructed in 1866, was not far from the new site on Woodies Lane.
All church functions will take place in the new facility, which contains 11,550 square feet. The space is flexible with movable partition walls that allow it to be used to its full advantage for a variety of ministries. The masonry and wood roof building also has a drive-through canopy.
James Emans of Bremen Church of the Brethren says the church couldn't be more pleased with the new building. He adds, "Beginning with out initial contact with DJ Construction in the summer of 2001, it was obvious to the Bremen Church of the Brethren congregation that DJ was the building partner to help us fulfill our goal of building a new meeting house. The DJ team exhibited their expertise as we worked to develop a preliminary design for a facility that could meet our needs, a process that spanned nearly three years, and as our congregation performed a four-year capital campaign. By their actions, it was obvious that the DJ team always had our itnerest in mind as we advanced the preliminary design to construction documents and throughout the construction process."
The Bremen Church of the Brethren is a caring congregation with a long history of service and outreach. Their Sunday morning schedule is as follows: Worship Service at 9:00 a.m.; Coffee/Fellowship at 10:00 a.m.; Sunday School at 10:15 a.m. The church has been served by Pastor Tom Hostetler since 1989.
