(February 3, 2012) The Boys and Girls Club of Goshen first partnered with DJ in 2000 to build a brand new club building on Crescent Ave. in Goshen. Twelve years and probably over a million foot and hand prints in the building later, the club was ready for some upgrades, and it again turned to DJ Construction for help.
DJ team members worked with Boys and Girls Club representatives and designer Shelly Fidler to plan the "Extreme Makeover," which touched almost every square foot of the building with new paint and new flooring. Four different painting subcontractors had to work together to get the job done. Even the tall entry area received a fresh coat of paint. The project began in December, and after four weeks of contruction, the club reopened in late January to welcome back the more than 300 students it serves daily.
CEO Kevin Deary is thrilled with the results. "The children are so excited and so are staff and parents. Thank you one and all for making this happen. DJ Construction outdid themselves again with a quality project start to finish. Donors brought in the dollars to make this a soon to be paid project. Thanks to all the Goshen staff and volunteers who gave up a weekend to ensure we would be opened on time," he states.
